The element (2) has a desk (11) linked to a frame (3) by a link unit in form of a parallelogram (12) arranged to keep the desk horizontal during its movement between use and non use positions. A bed (22) moves about a horizontal pin between the non-use and use positions. A tab (26) moves the bed from the use position to the non-use position while the desk is moved from the non-use position to use position. The pin moves vertically translation-wise relative to the frame between bottom and top positions close to and away from a floor when the bed is in non-use and use positions, respectively.
