A portable RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) reader is provided to realize portability by using no fixed PC interface and recognize a location of an RFID tag easily by increasing coverage like a mobile terminal, and detecting a current change generated in an electromagnetic field generated from an RF antenna and an induced electromagnetic field of the RFID tag. An RF transceiver(115) transceives a signal through an RF antenna(110) and an RFID recognizer(180) recognizes an RFID tag signal received through the RF transceiver. An RFID recognition controller(181) calculates the location of an RFID tag by measuring current of the received signal. A plurality of lamps(130-150) is turned on in each color according to the location of the RFID tag. A first input part(160) inputs the signal for checking the location of the RFID tag. A second input part(170) inputs the signal for storing RFID tag information to a memory. The current generated from the RFID tag is measured by detecting the change of the electromagnetic field generated from the RF antenna and the induced electromagnetic field generated from the RFID tag, and the location is displayed indirectly to the user through a display unit(120) by calculating/displaying an average distance by using the measured current. |
