A fastener has a pair of fastener tapes ( 1 a , 1 b) and two rows of individual magnetic elements ( 2 a , 2 b) mounted on the opposed inner longitudinal edges ( 7 a , 7 b) of the two fastener tapes ( 1 a , 1 b) at a predetermined interval. Each magnetic element ( 2 a) mounted on one fastener tape ( 1 a) is adapted to be fit between and cling to two mating magnetic elements ( 2 b) mounted on the other fastener tape ( 1 b).
