A vehicle DVR(Digital Video Recorder) and an operation method using the same are provided to store a storage medium, which stores the audio and video signals received through a camera in a vehicle, in a flash memory and to separate only the flash memory from a main body when an event occurs in the vehicle, without the necessity of separating the main body. A vehicle DVR(50) consists of a camera(1) and a main body(4), and the camera(1) monitors the inside and outside of a vehicle. The main body(4) contains a signal receiving part(2), a central processing part(3), a sensor part(12), a relay part(13), a radio communication part(11), a flash memory(14), a switch part(15), a display part(16), and an external interface(17). The signal receiving part(2) receives audio/video signals through the camera(1). The central processing part(3) controls the main body(4). The radio communication part(11) transmits the received audio/video signals to a control center. The sensor part(12) detects various states of the vehicle. The relay part(13) outputs a signal according to the detection operation of the sensor part(12). The flash memory(14), separably installed in the main body(4), stores the received audio/video signals. The switch part(15) controls the operation of the flash memory(14), and consists of an operation stop switch(15a) and an ejection switch(15b). The display part(16) is formed of LEDs so as to display various states of the main body(4). The external interface(17) is provided for a connection with an external device. |
