A full color organic light emitting display and a method for driving the same are provided to improve an image quality and to extend a life span of the display. A full color organic light emitting display includes a first substrate(10), a planarizing layer, organic light emitting elements, luminance measuring patterns for each color(32R,32G,32B), a second substrate(20), a luminance sensing unit, and a control unit(30). The first substrate includes a display region and a non-display region. The organic light emitting elements are formed on the display region and realize a full color. The luminance measuring patterns for each color are formed on the non-display region and emit light when an image is displayed on the display region. The second substrate encapsulates the first substrate. The control unit controls luminances of the organic light emitting elements of a color with a lower luminance than a set luminance. |
