A light emitting diode and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce loss of light and to maximize optical efficiency by obtaining a desired light emitting angle of the light emitted from a light emitting diode. A light emitting diode includes a lead frame(11), a light emitting diode chip(12) die-bonded on the lead frame, and a lens(14) molded on a front surface of the lead frame in order to form a shape of hemisphere. The lens includes a resin mold(15) which is molded on the lead frame. The lens includes a lens mold(16) which is laminated on the resin mold. The resin mold is formed of an epoxy resin or a silicon-based resin or a polyimide-based resin. |
