A method for correcting auto exposure in a camera module is provided to improve stability and speed by using a proportional integral control method and correcting an image frame delay in processing an image signal. A current ES(Electrical Shutter) value are compared with a target value(S101). The amount of the ES to be manipulated is calculated by using a proportional-integral control method(S103). A current AGC(Automatic Gain Control) value and a target value are compared(S105). The amount of the AGC which is to be manipulated is calculated by using the proportional-integral control method(S107). An auto exposure correction is performed according to the calculated amount of ES manipulation and the calculated amount of AGC manipulation(S109).
