A METHOD FOR REMOVE TOXIC MATTER IN WASTEWATER

A method for removing a toxic material contained in high-concentration livestock wastewater is provided to reduce the toxicity of a bio-chemical treatment system due to the toxic material, by using granular activated carbon. For removing a toxic material contained in high-concentration livestock wastewater, firstly, a reactor of 2L is operated at a temperature of 35°C while the reactor is filled with a granular activated carbon layer of 10 cm. Upward flow rate is set to a value of 25 ml/hour within the reactor. The input water is stayed within the reactor for 2 days. The toxic material corresponds to chemicals or toxic materials, which block anaerobic treatment.
