An automatic roll tapping apparatus for forming a roll tap on an inner peripheral surface of a workpiece of which one side is formed in a cylindrical hollow shape according to an automated process flow is provided to improve operation efficiency by reducing operation space and operation time during roll tapping and make it possible to obtain roll tapped workpieces with constantly equal quality. An automatic roll tapping apparatus comprises: an index table(21) having a plurality of placement grooves formed on an outer peripheral surface thereof with the placement grooves being spaced from one another in an equal distance such that workpieces are placed on the placement grooves; an index drive part(23) for driving the index table to rotate the index table as much as a predetermined angle at a time; a feeding part(41) fixed to a predetermined location to feed the workpieces onto the placement grooves; a roll tapping part(33) formed on an upper part of the index table to perform a roll tapping operation on the workpieces fed onto the placement grooves; a chamfering part(31) formed on the upper part of the index table to perform a chamfering operation on the workpieces fed onto the placement grooves; a control part(50) for allowing the roll tapping part to perform a roll tapping operation after the index table is rotated to a predetermined angle at a time, and allowing the index table to be rotated again at a time when the roll tapping part has completed the roll tapping operation; and a discharge part(43) fixed to a predetermined location to discharge workpieces on which the roll tapping operation has been completed from the placement grooves.
