An energy saving type refrigeration apparatus using waste heat of discharge gas is provided to heat defrost water through a first heat exchanger by using waste heat of discharged gas of high temperature and high pressure to prevent an overflow of water and a return error of defrost water. A coil type first heat exchanger(8) is installed in a defrosting tank(16), having one end connected to an outlet of a compressor(2) and the other end connected to an inlet of a condenser(3), to heat defrost water of the defrosting tank through waste heat of refrigerant gas of high temperature and high pressure discharged from the compressor. A first electronic valve(10) is installed between the outlet of the compressor and an inlet of the first heat exchanger to be opened and shut in accordance with an output signal of a controller(13) and to regulate refrigerant gas of high temperature and high pressure introduced into the first heat exchanger. A third electronic valve(12) is installed between the inlet and an outlet of the first heat exchanger including the outlet of the compressor and the inlet of the condenser to be opened and shut correspondingly to an output signal of the controller and to regulate refrigerant gas of high temperature and high pressure discharged from the compressor and introduced into the condenser. The controller controls a pump(5) of the defrosting tank and general driving of a refrigeration apparatus, detects a state of an evaporator(1) through an overcooling preventing temperature controller(15), and controls operation of the pump and driving in accordance with opening and shutting of the first and third electronic valves.
