METHOD FOR SELECTING CELL ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CONSISTED OF HIERARCHICAL CELL

A method for selecting a cell in a wireless communication network with a hierarchical cell structure is provided to prevent a wireless resource from being abused and to enhance network operation efficiency by efficiently distributing resources among hierarchical cells and making a terminal access two kinds of networks concurrently. A method for selecting a cell in a wireless communication network with a hierarchical cell structure comprises the following several steps. An operator of a wireless communication network sets a cell mode by the unit of a base station in which each cell can be discriminated wherein the wireless communication network consists of upper level cells and lower level cells like macro cells and micro cells(S31). If setting the cell mode is completed, a wireless communication system transmits information on the set cell mode to a mobile communication terminal(S33). The mobile communication terminal recognizes a cell mode to which the terminal itself is affiliated via the received information on the set cell mode, and selects a cell via the cell mode information in case that the terminal enters into an area where an upper level cell is overlapped with a lower level cell(S33).
