An apparatus and a method for controlling a sewage treatment process are provided to detect mis-operation or failure of one measuring unit for determining water quality level to set the water quality level through another measuring unit. Measuring units(101) have sensors for sensing specific components of water, respectively. Validity inspecting units(102) are respectively connected to the measuring units to determine the validity of each of the measured components. Target setting units(103) are connected to the validity inspecting units to set target values for the measured components, respectively. A manual set unit(104) sets a target value according to a component value inputted by a user. A signal selector(106) selects the connection with one of the target setting units and the manual set unit. A controller(107) integrates or differentiates the target value inputted from the signal selector to convert into a control signal. An operator operates a sewage treating unit according to the control signal. Further, the signal selector contains a selection logic part so that one of the target setting units or the manual set unit. |
