PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional guillotine wherein when a number of paper sheets are stacked and cut, excessive force is required, or the cut ends are apt to be non-uniform, so that in the guillotine only for this purpose, a mechanism for pressing paper sheets and a high-rigidity cutting blade are needed to increase the weight, raise the price and complicate the operation. SOLUTION: A straight double-edged cutter is pressed to a cradle through a boosting mechanism at its central position. Since a thin double-edged cutter will not cause shifting of paper sheets in cutting, the cutter and an enclosure are plate members to secure necessary rigidity, and the central position of the cutter is constructed so that the boosting effect becomes maximum at the stroke end. Thus, it is possible to provide a guillotine which can be simply operated by one hand, light-weighted and small-sized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
