PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail attaching structure for a toilet, which is capable of receiving the moment applied to a frame part from a handrail in fixing the handrail to the frame part. SOLUTION: The handrail attaching structure for the toilet has the metal frame part 2 in the rear. The frame part 2 comprises an upper horizontal frame 21 whose front/rear direction is directed to the longitudinal direction and a rear vertical frame 23 projecting downward from near the rear end of the upper horizontal frame 21 on either left or right side. A base plate 3 to be attached to the frame part 2 is formed so as to have a C-shaped cross-section, composed of an upper horizontal piece 31, a vertical piece 32 and a lower horizontal piece 33. The rear end face of the lower horizontal piece 33 of the base plate 3 is made to abut on the front face of the rear vertical frame 23 of the frame part 2, and the upper horizontal piece 31 of the base plate 3 is fixed to the upper face of the upper horizontal frame 21.
