The attachment (1) has a sleeve (2) for attaching a bearing (11), and a flange (3) mechanically connected with the sleeve. The sleeve has a seat (9) in its bore for fixing the bearing in a radial direction. The sleeve has an axial stop (6) axially adjacent to the seat for fixing the bearing in axial direction. The axial stop is formed by a projection (8) whose extension reduces radially inward by increasing axial distance of the axial stop. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a bearing assembly.
