The present invention is directed towards a vehicle storage structure, for the compact parking and garaging of vehicles. Preferred embodiments comprise one or more two dimensional arrays of parking bays accessed by one or more travelling carriages capable of lifting and transferring vehicles to and from parking bays. Conveyors, upon which a vehicle rests, are provided on the lifting platform of carriages, the parking bays, and the loading and access points for vehicles to the storage^ structure. The conveyors enable vehicles to be moved by the system, without relying the vehicles to be driven under their own power.
