<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate and a back light unit to suppress occurrence of color unevenness. <P>SOLUTION: This is the edge light type light guide plate 31 in which convex shaped or concave shaped light dispersing means 32 to disperse incident light in the thickness direction of the light guide plate are installed at an incident face 31a of the light from LED in a plurality of numbers and in parallel rows extending laterally in stripes. The parallel rows are formed in parallel with or inclined to the light emitting face. Moreover, the parallel rows are formed continuously linear or non-continuously linear. Moreover, the convex shape or concave shape is formed nearly semicircular or triangular. Moreover, the back light is constituted by arranging a plurality of LEDs of different maximum wavelengths of radiation spectrum in the vicinity of the incident face 31a of such a light guide plate 31.
