PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use video camera enabling arbitrary setting of a playback sequence. SOLUTION: A means is provided for setting the playback sequence of imaged video before imaging is provided. When a play list file for managing the playback sequence at the time of playback is to be generated, the play list file is generated based on the playback sequence being set after the imaging. For example, when setting the playback sequence, by enabling designation of the playback sequence of the imaged video either conforming to the imaging sequence or reversely to the imaging sequence, the play list file is generated according to the designated imaging sequence or the reverse of the imaging sequence. Also, by enabling designation of a position to which the imaged video is inserted between files in the recorded video files, the play list file is generated according to the designated position information.
