PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave (EMW) oscillator such as a terahertz wave oscillator capable of improving the degree of freedom in the design of an EMW oscillation part on a substrate and provided with constitution reducing a fear of interference between an EMW radiated from an EMW radiation part and a member of a feeding part. SOLUTION: The EMW oscillator 100 is provided with: a substrate 112; an EMW oscillation part 194 including a gain portion 101, an EMW resonance portion, an EMW radiation portion, and a ground portion 106; and a feeding part 198 for supplying power to the EMW oscillation part 194. The ground portion 106 regulates a predetermined reference potential for the gain portion 101, the EMW resonance portion and the EMW radiation portion and the EMW oscillation part 194 is arranged on the first surface of the substrate 112. The feeding part 198 is arranged on the second surface of the substrate 112 which is the opposite side to the first surface. The EMW oscillation part 194 and the feeding part 198 are connected to each other via a penetrating electrode formed in the substrate 112. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
