PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector that is free from display unevenness and is bright. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal projector is provided with a light source, a first polarizing plate, a liquid crystal light valve, a second polarizing plate and a projecting means, wherein all glass molded articles, through which light transmitted through the first polarizing plate reaches the second polarizing plate is made of glass of low-coefficient of linear expansion, having 10×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C or lower for the absolute value of the average coefficient of linear expansion.
