PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of accelerating warming-up of a catalyst in a control device for the internal combustion engine set with a delay angle of ignition timing according to a range of AT. SOLUTION: This control device for the internal combustion engine executes ignition delay control of the internal combustion engine and is provided with a catalyst temperature estimation detection means estimating or detecting catalyst temperature. When temperature of the catalyst estimated or detected by the catalyst temperature estimation detection means is lower than a predetermined value 204, delay angle of the ignition delay control is set larger in a case where a drive range is selected (201) in a transmission of a vehicle on which the internal combustion engine is mounted than that in a case where a non-drive range is selected (200).
