METHOD AND APPARATUS OF FORWARD DIRECTION OUTPUT CONTROL IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of forward direction output control in communication system.

SOLUTION: In a data communication system capable of performing variable rate transmission, a data rate is decided by performing the maximum C/I observation of a forward direction link signal so as to be observed in an access terminal 6. Data transmission is planned based on the access terminal 6 which have begun the forward direction output control. The forward direction output control decreases quantization loss of a forward direction link rate caused by excess transmission output. The access terminal 6 reports excess C/I estimation relating to a selected rate to an access point 4. Then the access point 4 decreases its self transmission output by a proper amount when operating the access terminal 6.
