PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer of a line printer type which can form images of a high image quality by a high resolution and can form images of a stable image quality over the whole width direction of a medium to be recorded. SOLUTION: In the inkjet printer, nozzles 10 of an inkjet head 1 and nozzles 10 of an inkjet head 2 are arranged alternately in the width direction as shown in Fig.4(B) at a high image quality position where the inkjet heads 1 and 2 overlap with each other nearly all over in the width direction as shown in Fig.4(A). A pitch of the nozzles 10 apparently becomes P/2 (provided that P=the pitch in each of the inkjet heads 1 and 2). When a screw shaft 11 of a screw is rotated by a head moving motor 13 and the inkjet head 1 is moved to a low image quality position as shown by a long dashed short dashed line, the pitch of the nozzles 10 becomes P over the whole width, so that the image can be formed to a wide-width paper 99.
