The invention relates to a filling-controlled hydrodynamic coupling comprising at least one primary wheel and at least one secondary wheel which form a toroidal working chamber that can be filled with an operating medium; a supply line for supplying an operating means to the working chamber; and a device for adjusting the degree of filling of the working chamber with an operating medium. The invention is characterised in that the primary wheel and the secondary wheel are asymmetrical in relation to each other, and the partial volume of the working chamber, defined by the secondary wheel, is smaller than the partial volume defined by the primary wheel.
