The object of the invention is an electrical machine excited by permanent magnets. The electrical machine comprises a sheet pack (6) formed of ferromagnetic sheets, said sheet pack being arranged with channel (14) allowing the fitting of permanent-magnet pieces (12). There are at least two successive permanent-magnet pieces (12) in the direction of the shaft of the electrical machine. According to the invention, a shim piece (30) is arranged between the two successive permanent-magnet pieces (12), preventing the permanent-magnet pieces (12) from moving in the direction of the shaft of the electrical machine, and an axial installation stick (26) is fitted through the shim pieces.
