<p>An automotive suspension system incorporates a hydraulic dampener with a cylinder (1) and piston (2) with axial passages and valves. The valves include a permanently open by-pass aperture and a unidirectional valve (4, 4') with linear operating characteristics. The piston further incorporates a spring-operated pressure-limiting valve. The by-pass aperture, linear valve and pressure-limiting valve operate in parallel with each other.</p> |
