<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pupil detector that detects the position of the pupil at a high speed without causing erroneous detection when a high pixel camera having a wide angle of view is used in the eye image photographing for iris authentication. <P>SOLUTION: The face image acquired by photographing the face of a person to be authenticated is accumulated in a memory part 21 while the image contracted in an image contraction part 22 is processed on and after an image data extraction part 25 through an image pre-processing part 23 to detect the rough position of the pupil. An eye image is cut out of the original image accumulated in the memory part 21 on the basis of the detection data to perform the detection of the pupil. Further, the pupil detector has a switching means which is equipped with an optical sensor part 1D and changes over the setting of a circulating integration part 26 to the setting of the detection of an iris when the circumference is extremely bright and a means for preventing erroneous detection that erroneously detects a part other than the eye of the face as an eye. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
