PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely prevent the occurrence of blanking during channel switching. SOLUTION: When the viewing of a program is indicated, a tuner 1 which is one of two provided tuners receives the channel of a program whose viewing is indicated to display video. During the period, the tuner 2 receives channels which are not received by the tuner 1 one after another while changing the channels. Still images and short moving images as portions of the program obtained by the tuner 2 are saved, and displayed in response to an indication of switching the channel received by the tuner 1 to a channel 3 until the tuner 1 receives the channel 3 to display its video.
