PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail device that can protect user's privacy and ensure security. SOLUTION: A recording medium access unit 3 detects a CF (Compact Flash) card being detached from a recording medium connection unit 2, and a CPU 10 when receiving information showing that the CF card is detached from the recording medium connection unit 2 as detection information from the recording medium access unit 3 decides that the CF card is detached from the recording medium connection unit 2, and erases personal setting information stored in an internal memory 9 and personal communication information 17 whose management tag information 19 indicates a group of "personal" tags.
