PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external package member of a remote control having a number of key switches and elongate product shape, of which strength, rigidity and appearance quality are improved; and its structure. SOLUTION: In the external package member of a remote control, the both side surfaces of the external package are formed of separate components other than an upper cover and a lower cover. The separate components can be made of not only aluminum extruded material but also either of plastic extruded material, a metal pressed work, a plastic molded work and the like. Each of the separate components has the length almost equal to the entire length of the product, an almost U-shaped cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and hooks on the both tip portions. The cross section can be also almost V-shape or almost C-shape. Since the separate components have that cross section in long dimension, they are suitable for extruding processing and formed of aluminum extruded material. The both hooks engage with grooves provided in the upper cover and the lower cover and slid in the longitudinal direction for assembling. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
