PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated electric wire, a composite wire having the insulated electric wires, and a shield wire, all of which is capable of improving electrical insulating property and wiring workability without an increase in cross section in the radial direction. SOLUTION: An insulated wire 1a having a plurality of enameled strands 12 comprises a reinforcing fiber 11, and an enamel coating layer 13 which is coated on the periphery of the enameled strands 12 as not to exceed a minimum circle 14 in which all of each radial direction cross section of the reinforcing fiber wire 11 and the plurality of enameled strands 12 can be included.
