The seal (1) has a seal component sheet metal (10) with an opening (12) at a position that corresponds to a combustion chamber of an engine. A drilling seam is formed in the seal component sheet metal. The drilling seam surrounds the opening. A water jacket (7) is provided in a cylinder block of the engine. A distant sheet metal (11) is provided at the seal component sheet metal in a region between an outer circumference edge of the drilling seam and an interior circumference of the water jacket. The distant sheet metal controls the full deflection of the drilling seam.
