The plate or shell-shaped component (10), of metal or plastics, is for attachment to another component with a sealed joint between them. The sealing surfaces (16) are structured (22) by an increased pressure on them in pressure shaping, to give a corrugated profile. The gaps in the corrugations are filled with a sealing material. The component is also fitted with holes (20) in the mounting flange (14) to take screw bolt fasteners.
