A media insert apparatus and a method, and an automatic media receipt system using the same are provided to handle media of different standards in one system by selectively adjusting the width of an input port according to the width of input media and to simplify receipt processes of various media. A media insert apparatus comprises a guide(130) moved by a driving unit(120) driven according to a media input command, in order to adjust the width of an input port(110); a sensing unit(140) for sensing the position of the guide; and a control unit for controlling the driving unit according to the kinds of media and correcting the position of the guide according to the sensing result transmitted from the sensing unit.
