<p>A touch screen using multiplexed Surface Acoustic Waves (SAWs) and a method of implementing the touch screen are disclosed. Time-division multiplexed SAWs, generated at one edge of a substrate (10), are detected at an opposite edge, and the loction of a touch is recognized through signal processing and analysis. Further, the present invention is advantageous in that the location of a touch can be detected both in time and in frequency using SAWs on the substrate, thus improving the reliability of recognition of a touch, in that signal generatiors and detectors are multiplexed, thus decreasing the widths of electrodes, and in that a thin substrate can be used, thus enabling the touch screen to be effectively applied to all sizes of touch screens, from a small-sized touch screen to a large-sized touch screen.</p> |
