<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire for removing an intravascular foreign matter and a medical instrument for reliably trapping an intravascular foreign matter by reliably securing a foreign matter catching space even when an external force is applied. <P>SOLUTION: The wire 1A for removing an intravascular foreign matter includes a flexible and long main body 2 of the wire, two branched wire parts 4a, 4b branched off from the distal end of the main body 2 of the wire, and three filament parts 51, 52, 53 laid between two branched wire parts 4a, 4b, and the foreign matter trapping space 31 for trapping the intravascular foreign matter is formed by the branched wire parts 4a, 4b and the filament parts 51, 52, 53.
