PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new pharmaceutical composition useful as an antibacterial agent for bacterial strains of the genus Propionibacterium. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition comprises a new cyclic compound isolated from new Streptomyces sp. Q34752 strain and Q47152 strain as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition has an excellent antibacterial activity against the bacterial strains of the genus Propionibacterium, especially Propionibacterium acnes, etc., and is useful as the antibacterial agent especially for treatment, etc., of acne vulgaris.
