PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass forming mold which can prevent occurrence of seizing in a plunger, in the production process of a large size hollow glass article. SOLUTION: The plunger 2 of the glass forming mold is formed by mounting an upper member 24 for clogging up the nearly square-shaped upper opening part 21 of a main member 23 in which the upper opening part 21 is opened and a lower end part 22 is projected downward, and unifying the upper member 24 and the main member 23. The internal space formed by the main member 23 and the upper member 24 is a fluid-introducing chamber 4 and conducting passages 5 are provided in the fluid-introducing chamber 4. In the glass forming mold, a cooling fluid can be directly jetted to the vicinities of the projecting corner parts 20 of the plunger 2 through the conducting passages 5. Thereby, the vicinity of each projecting part 20 is effectively cooled and the occurrence of seizing at the vicinity of each projecting corner part 20 of the plunger 2 can be prevented.
