PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a shift of folding positions, folding wrinkles and damage etc. even when a sheet bundle is thick by stabilizing the attitude of a blade unit during folding operation. SOLUTION: With respect to the width W of guide grooves 75, 76 for guiding lifting/lowering of a holder 59 holding a middle folding blade 45, a first clearance W1 of a first guide roller 61 is set small and a second clearance W2 of a second guide roller 62 is set large. A sheet bundle (a bundle of sheets P) is raised by the middle folding blade 45, pressed into a nip N between a pair of middle folding rollers 43, and folded in the center. When the sheet bundle is thick, since the middle folding blade 45 and the holder 59 are oscillated around the first guide roller 61 in accordance with the thickness, the attitude is stabilized.
