PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder resin for electrophotographic toner having proper grindability and offset resistance, and to provide a toner containing such a binder resin. SOLUTION: The binder resin for electrophotographic toner is obtained by polymerizing at least starting monomers of a condensation polymer resin and starting monomers of an addition polymer resin, wherein the starting monomers of the addition polymer resin contain styrene in amount of 90 wt.% or higher.
