PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate attachment work of a coil spring with respect to an inner ring, in a friction type torque limiter wherein one end of the inner ring inserted into an outer annular member is rotatably supported in the inside of the outer annular member, a coil spring is attached to an outside diameter surface of the inner ring with the prescribed tightening allowance, the other end of the inner ring is inserted into a lid member fitted to an inside diameter surface of the outer annular member, one end of the coil spring is fitted to the outer annular member, and the other end thereof is fitted to the lid member, and the prescribed torque is generated by fastening force of the coil spring. SOLUTION: A tilt guide surface 21 having an end having a minimum outside diameter D is provided on the one end of the inner ring 2 inserted into the outer annular member 1, and the relationship between the minimum outside diameter D and the coil spring 3 in the natural state is as follows; D<C.
