摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a webbing winding device capable of saving an installation space and suppressing a deceleration/acceleration speed of a winding shaft when webbing is almost completely wound up. <P>SOLUTION: In this webbing winding device, when the webbing 34 is completely wound up, a pulling force acting in the pulling-out direction of the webbing 34 is applied to a spool 20 and then the spool 20 is stopped. At this time, as the spool 20 tries to relatively rotate in the winding direction with respect to a layered portion 34A of the webbing 34, the base end of an insertion portion 30B of a free plate 30 is depressed in the pulling-out direction by one end of the webbing 34 in the longitudinal direction which is inserted into a webbing engaging hole 28 of the spool 20. Therefore, the insertion portion 30B is deformed in the pulling-out direction and rubber 32 is elastically deformed by being compressed between the insertion portion 30B and the inner wall of the webbing engaging hole 28.
