PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wound core manufacturing apparatus with the proper gap or lap allowance of each abutment portion and having high quality. SOLUTION: There are provided: an entrainment device 22 entraining a steel tape SS between a spool 10 and an entrainment belt 13 to wind a wound core 23; a steel tape feeder 29 feeding the steel tape by a feed roller 25; and a shear 40 that is arranged between the entrainment device and the steel tape feeder to cut the steel tape without stopping. The steel tape feeder is controlled in such a manner as to feed the steel tape at a speed equal to the entrainment speed of the steel tape by the entrainment device. Every time the steel tape of a predetermined length is fed by the steel tape feeder, it is cut by the shear. A unit steel tape is formed, and the wound core is continuously wound. The cutting length is calculated by using the thickness of the steel tape that is calculated on the basis of the belt length per one revolution of the spool. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
