PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost ball screw nut having a long life and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: A predetermined inner diameter surface is formed at the center of a column-shaped raw material by drilling or the like (P1), and an outer diameter surface and the inner diameter surface of the raw material are finished with a cutting tool (P2). Then, a tapping tool 9 is inserted into the inner diameter surface 1a of the ball screw nut 1 to perform cutting operation under numerical control of respective phases (P3). After the cutting operation, the ball screw nut 1 is subjected to vacuum carburizing heat treatment or carbonitriding heat treatment so as to form a quench-hardened layer (P4).
