A method for determining a service type of a key request comprises the steps of: carrying an information of the requested service type in the key message of the requested push service; determining the service type of the requested key applying according to the requested type information carried in the key message of the requested push service. An apparatus for determining a service type of a key request includes: a message generating unit for carrying an information of the requested service type in the key message of the requested push service; and a judging unit for determining the service type of the key applying requested by a network application function entity according to the requested type information carried in the key message of the requested push service.
