WIRELESS VIDEO MONITOR AND METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless video monitor and method therefor capable of transmitting video data subjected to optimum coding depending on a transmission state without much changing a transmitted data amount.

SOLUTION: The wireless video monitor includes: an image coding system selection section 120 for selecting a proper image coding system in response to acknowledgement (ACK) information returned from a wireless packet network 130 and transmitting information of the selection to an image coding section 110; a coding discrimination section 140 for discriminating the coding system from a digital compression coding image signal transmitted through the wireless packet network 130; and an image decoding section 150 for decoding the image signal according to the coding system discriminated by the coding discrimination section 140 from the digital compression coding image signal, and the image coding system selection section 120 selects a coding system whereby a failed image due to a transmission error is hardly propagated to a succeeding frame and a high compression image compression system whereby a high definition image can be transmitted by using an inter-frame prediction function.
