BACKLIGHT APPARATUS, AND COLOR IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of color irregularity of a display image due to deviation of a luminous energy balance in every divided region when a backlight apparatus is driven on the basis of a plurality of divided regions.

SOLUTION: A color liquid crystal display panel is illuminated by light emitting diode units LEDU11-LEDU44 arranged corresponding to optical regions A11-A44 irradiating the color liquid crystal display panel by mixing light rays different in color from light emitting diodes 21R, 21G and 21B of respective colors. By individually sequentially detecting the luminous energy values of the respective colors in the light emitting diode units LEDU11-LEDU44 by luminous energy sensor parts LS1-LS4 arranged on longitudinal one-side end surface of optically-transparent and long plate-like light detecting light guide plates LGP1-LGP4 arranged in light collecting parts W11-W44 corresponding to the respective regions A11-A44, the values of drive currents carried to the light emitting diodes 21R, 21G and 21B of the respective colors of the light emitting diode units LEDU11-LEDU44.
