PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent retrieval processing from resulting in an error even if an inquiry expression exceeds the limit number of characters of a URL (uniform resource locators) parameter. SOLUTION: A generating part 34 generates the inquiry expression for retrieval specified by retrieval conditions included in a request from a client 20-i (i=1). The inquiry expression is registered in a table 312-1 in association with parameter information. A retrieval processing part 38 performs retrieval processing for an XML (extensible markup language) document system 10 based on the generated inquiry expression. A retrieval result is processed to include the parameter information associated with the inquiry expression used for the retrieval, and returned to the client. When the URL of the request from the client includes parameter information, an acquisition part 35 acquires the inquiry expression associated with the information, from a table 312-1.
