PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter driving device superior in reliability, capable of providing large brake force in a small size, and capable of providing stable brake force over a long period. SOLUTION: This shutter driving device 100 has a fall stopping mechanism 30 for stopping abnormal falling of a shutter. The fall stopping mechanism 30 has a disc brake 31 of a disk shape fixed to a rotary shaft 4 of a driving motor 1 and having a plurality of uneven parts along the outer periphery, a rocking member 32 arranged along the outer periphery of the disc brake 31 and rockingly supported so as to engage with and separate from the uneven parts of the brake disc 31, and a solenoid 34 switching rocking of the rocking member 32, and is constituted so as to brake rotation of the rotary shaft 4 by engaging one end of the rocking member 32 with the uneven parts of the brake disc 31.
