PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder fiber excellent in heat bondability to a polyester fiber at low temperatures. SOLUTION: A copolyester composition comprises a copolyester composed of a tetramethylene terephthalate unit, an ethylene terephthalate unit, a tetrametylene isophthalate unit, and an ethylene isophthalate unit as repeating structural units and a metallic salt of an organic carboxylic acid represented by formula (I): (R-COO)<SB>k</SB>M and has a copolymerization amount of an isophthalic acid component of 5-30 mol% based on the entire carboxylic acid component and contains a phosphorus compound represented by formula (II).
